John Alook

John is the Consultation and Regulatory Coordinator and has been with the CPIRC since January 2015. John is from BigStone Cree Nation, Wabasca Alberta and has vast experience and knowledge of land resource management. John has a Resource Management Technician Certificate from Alberta College and Diploma in Renewable Resource Management from Lethbridge Community College’s Environmental Sciences Program. John carries out consultation with industry regarding dispositions on CPDFN’s traditional territory and communication of impacts and concerns to the CPDFN community. John is also focused on building capacity in the community through community-based monitoring and education. John spent much of his time growing up in the bush with his parents and grandparents and knew he had
to follow a career path where he could not only work outdoors but work to protect it for future generations to enjoy the way he was able to.
