Chris Heavy Shield

Chris is the Consultation Manager and has been with the CPIRC since July 2011. Chris is a member of the
Kainai (Blood) First Nation and has many long-time friends and adopted family from Chipewyan Prairie.
Chris’s primary responsibilities include supporting staff in building and executing the CPFN consultation
process with government and industry, managing relationships between the Nation and government
and industry, as a part of the CPFN negotiating team, working to ensure long-term benefit agreements
for all projects in the traditional territory, and working directly with community members to find ways to
ensure consultation is meaningful.

Chris encourages all community members to contact him regarding any questions, concerns, or ideas
regarding the CPDFN consultation process. Anyone who wishes to be more involved in specific
